St John Fisher Primary School was bursting with excitement this week as pupils took part in their annual Dreams Day, a celebration of aspirations, ambitions, and future careers.

The event saw children from across the school arrive dressed as their dream job — from astronauts and vets to chefs, dancers, scientists, and firefighters. It was a colourful and inspiring sight as students proudly showed off their outfits and shared their hopes for the future.

A highlight of the day was the KS2 Careers Fair, where a wide range of professionals came to speak with the children about their work. Pupils had the opportunity to meet artists, authors, doctors and nurses, personal trainers, charity workers, engineers, and many more inspiring guests.

“The buzz around the school has been amazing,” said a teacher at the event. “It’s been so heartwarming to see our children’s eyes light up as they discover what they could one day become.”

Children were especially excited to meet real-life role models, with one student saying, “I had so much fun meeting my favourite author! I can’t wait to write my own book.” Another added, “I feel so inspired now.”

For many pupils, Dreams Day opened their eyes to new possibilities. “There are so many jobs I could do when I’m an adult now!” one enthusiastic child remarked.

The event was a fantastic opportunity to connect learning with real-world opportunities and to help students start thinking positively about their future.

Dreams Day is set to remain a firm favourite in the St John Fisher calendar, a day of imagination, inspiration, and hope.
