The Catholic Life and Mission is Centred at the Heart of All We Do
St Aidan’s Primary School: At St Aidan’s Primary School pupils show stewardship by, taking responsibility for their environment, making environmental responsible choices and having awe and wonder for the natural world.
Ursuline High School: Celebrating an Outstanding CSI inspection, the report stated ‘All students understand, greatly value and fully embrace the school’s distinctive Catholic Ursuline identity.’ They describe the school as, ‘A community, a family,’ and when asked if they would consider another school responded, ‘Not a chance!’
St. Cecilia’s Primary School: School pupils take a creative and powerful approach to marking significant Liturgical events, enhancing and deepening their engagement with the life of Christ.
St. John Fisher Primary School: Pupils come together with their Trust and Diocesan peers at the Advent Service at St. George’s Cathedral in December.
As a family, each of our school’s individual identities, charisms and cultures supports and is supported by our Trust pillars of Faith (we take time every day for service, reflection and prayer) and Service (we serve our communities, with preferential treatment for those who are poor in spirit or circumstance).
Our schools are communities that strive to work a little harder each day to enrich the spiritual lives of all those we serve - students, staff and parents. We work strategically, alongside our Catholic Life and Mission Committee, to ensure we communicate to every stakeholder what it means to be part of Sancta Familia Catholic Academy Trust.
Identifying Faith and Service as separate pillars enable us to ensure that our Catholic life is something that is nurtured through our personal relationships with Jesus (Faith) as well as something that is lived through Catholic Social Teaching (CST) to make our world better (Service). We know words without actions are limited.
As St Francis reminds us, “preach the Gospel at all times, and when necessary, use words.”
Continuous high-quality staff development is core to our work. There are opportunities for leaders at all levels to come together to consider best and next practice, as well as to learn from others locally nationally and globally.
To support high quality provision in all areas of the Catholic Life of our schools, an appointment for a Trust RE lead is about to be made - increasing our capacity and our commitment to develop our RE leaders and those leading the Spiritual and Liturgical Lives of our schools.
Chaplaincy teams from across our schools contribute to liturgical life of their own schools and that of the Trust, through Diocesan and Trust Liturgies and collegiate events.
Our schools work hard every day to ensure that acts of kindness and charity are woven into the fabric of daily life. Whether through fundraising projects that serve local, national and international communities or through the strong pastoral offer available across our schools.
We look forward to the expansion of our Trust and the opportunity to enrich the lives of our students, staff and families in ensuring that Sancta Familia is a place of belonging for all that it serves.
