Vince Burke

Regional Trust Leader

I joined the Sancta Familia Catholic Academy Trust Executive Team in September 2026.

I am an experienced education leader with more than three decades of experience across Catholic education.  I first became a Headteacher in 1996 and have held leadership roles in Catholic schools in Southwark, Arundel and Brighton, and Singapore. My experience includes maintained, academy and independent schools, as well as working with different curricula and educational systems.

Much of my career has focused on school improvement and supporting schools through periods of challenge and change. I have undertaken a number of short-term and interim leadership roles, providing practical support to school communities and leading significant improvement journeys, including schools achieving Outstanding judgements from Ofsted.

I have particular expertise in Early Years education, and I am passionate about giving children the strongest possible start to their education. I have also been a Designated Safeguarding Lead since 1991, bringing more than 30 years of experience in safeguarding and developing strong cultures of care within schools.

I have served on both primary and secondary governing bodies for many years and have a strong interest in effective governance, leadership and the use of technology to support teaching, learning and school improvement.

I graduated from St Mary’s University, Surrey, and hold a Master’s degree in Educational Technology from King’s College London. I represent the Archdiocese on the Standing Advisory Council for Religious Education (SACRE) in Sutton.

I am committed to the mission and values of Catholic education and I enjoy working alongside school leaders and staff to build on their strengths, navigate challenges and create the best possible opportunities for children and their families.
